En 1767, la guerre entre la Thaïlande et la Birmanie devient de plus en plus intense. Les troupes birmanes attaquent Ayuthaya, la capitale de la Thaïlande à cette époque. L'armée thaï est battue. Praya Thepsongram, qui fut le général des thaï, recourt alors à la magie du dieu des paons pour protéger les siens des risques de la guerre. En plaçant ainsi sa maison sous un charme, le général rend tous ses habitants invisibles et modifie également l'écoulement du temps. Désormais, dans la maison, une année correspond à un siècle à l'extérieur...
In 1767, the war between Thailand and Burma had worsened and Ayuthaya, which was the capital city of Thailand, was attacked by the Burmese troops. The Thai side was weakened. Praya Thepsongram, who had been the general of the Thai troops, has used the Peacock's god's magic in order to protect his family from being killed in the war. By putting his house under the spell, he had made his house and the habitants totally invisible. He had set the time of the house in a special mode as well: one year in the house had becomme an equivalent of one hundred years...
